The Guardian (Tuesday, 16th of October 2007, page 35)
‘The kids aren’t alright’
We took a letter from the editor. The main message is, that british parents are obsessed that their children develop complex skills of reading and writing before the age of 6. As a result, teachers and parents are under pressure to reach this goal and the primary school children are stressed – it’s education to success.

NHS (National Health System) is criticized by it's population for offering bad hygiene-conditions ("superbug") and a lack of beds (homebirths). The government reacts by sacking staff.

The Guardian Education, Tuesday October 16 2007, page 12 by Harriet Swain (Manuel, Beccy and Julia)

Our text is about 'the art of listening to a lecture', it means you should be awake, ready, open-minded and interested. It also says to make notes not take notes, for that you need your own system to learn for the exam.
The author gives two top tips:
- be there
- go there.
